Shop Technician
Our client has been a leading supplier of all things related to door automation, life safety, security and specialty building products for multi-use facilities, industrial, commercial, institutional buildings since 1991! They take care of design-from-spec, fabrication, supply, pre-installs, installations, commissioning to ongoing maintenance and inspection. On their behalf, we are searching for a SHOP TECHNICIAN to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness and organization of equipment and shop space.
- Fabrication and welding duties (cutting, welding (MIG), reworking, fabricating and grinding steel frames and doors.
- Assist with receiving, inventory and supply functions.
Position Requirements:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma – any related post-secondary education is an asset.
- Ideally you will have 2 years of welding and fabrication experience.
- Proficient with hand tools and related equipment.
- Must be able to measure both imperial and metric.
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job including heavy lifting.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Excellent planning, organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a small but busy and highly dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in reading drawings and instructions/orders.
- Grade 1 CSA approved safety footwear and welding mask.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
