PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Calibre Recruitment Inc. is committed to safeguarding and protecting the personal information entrusted to us by all individuals whose personal information is held or controlled by our company.
Personal Information
As defined by governing Privacy legislation, personal information is any piece of information, either factual or subjective, about an identifiable individual. All personal information is only collected, used, and disclosed by Calibre Recruitment Inc. in accordance with this privacy policy.
The Code
Calibre Recruitment Inc. recognizes, conforms and follows the code for the protection of personal information included in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada).
The Code is comprised of the following 10 interrelated privacy principles:

Accountability – Calibre Recruitment Inc. is responsible for personal information under its control and shall designate a Privacy Officer who is accountable for the compliance with the principles of The Code.

Identifying Purposes – The purposes for which personal information is collected shall be identified by Calibre Recruitment Inc. at or before the time the information is collected.

Consent – The knowledge and consent of the individual are required for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information, except in specific circumstances as described within The Code.

Limiting Collection – The collection of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by Calibre Recruitment Inc. Information shall be collected by fair and lawful means.

Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention – Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.

Accuracy – Personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used.

Safeguards – Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Calibre Recruitment Inc. will apply the same standard of care as it applies to safeguard its own confidential information of a similar nature.

Openness – Calibre Recruitment Inc. shall make readily available to individuals specific, understandable information about its policy and practices relating to the management of personal information.

Individual Access – Upon request, an individual shall be informed of the existence, use, and disclosure of his or her personal information and shall be given access to that information. An individual is entitled to question the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate on proof of inaccuracy.

Challenging Compliance – An individual shall be able to question compliance with the above principles to the Privacy Officer accountable for the compliance of Calibre Recruitment Inc.
PRIVACY POLICY
Compliance with Privacy Legislation
Calibre Recruitment Inc. will establish a Privacy Policy that respects the Code and ensures that Calibre Recruitment Inc. abides by the applicable privacy legislation outlined in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada). Our Privacy Policy will be posted publicly and available to anyone who requests it.
Personal Information We Collect & Why & How It’s Disclosed
- As a potential candidate, participant or client, Calibre Recruitment Inc. will ask you to provide certain pieces of information in order for us to provide you with best possible service as it relates to your job search.
- We never collect or disclose more personal information than is necessary to fulfill these purposes, unless requested by employers, community partners or funders, and consented to by you.
- We inform you before or at the time of collecting personal information, of the purposes for which we are collecting and disclosing the information.
- In addition to your contact details, your resume, and a description of the type of work you are looking for, your file may include interview notes, information obtained through reference checks, educational records, reference letters and/or specific information required by government program funders.
- All your personal information is only collected, used, and disclosed by Calibre Recruitment Inc. in accordance with this privacy policy.
- Every effort is taken to ensure that your personal information is accurate and complete. We rely on you to notify us if there is a change to your personal information. If you are aware of an error in our information about you, please let us know and we will correct it on request.
- UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES do we sell client lists or other personal information to third parties.
Consent
- Calibre Recruitment Inc. will ask for consent to collect, use or disclose client personal information, at the time of collection or in advance. Your consent may be given in writing (completing and signing a consent form), but also can be given verbally or electronically.
- We will assume your consent in cases where you volunteer information for an obvious purpose. As well, we will assume your consent to continue to use, and where applicable, disclose personal information that we have already collected, for the purpose in which the information was collected.
- You may withdraw consent to the use and disclosure of personal information at any time, unless the personal information is necessary for us to fulfil our legal obligations. We will respect your decision, but we may not be able to provide you with certain services if we do not have the necessary personal information.
Protecting Your Information
- Your information that is stored electronically is protected with the appropriate safeguards and security measures. All computers and systems are password secured and only authorized individuals have access.
- All hard copy files and client information are stored in locked file cabinets onsite.
- We use appropriate security measures when destroying personal information.
- Only authorized employees, community partners and government representatives will have access to your personal information, and will abide by our Privacy Policy.
- Our Privacy Officer conducts monthly privacy audits and prepares a monthly report for the management team at Calibre Recruitment Inc. that identifies key activities, any known contraventions of privacy laws, including privacy breaches, and recommended changes for the management team’s consideration.
- Our management team will review each report to determine whether additional steps, beyond those taken by the Privacy Officer, are required.
