Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of silicone parts specializing in custom liquid silicone rubber moulding for the healthcare and automotive industries. On their behalf, we are searching for a talented Quality Engineer to join their London team. Ultimately the successful candidate will ensure that all products, processes and systems comply with the expected standards set out by our client and its customers.
Overall Focus
- Assist with the design, specification, development, inspection, measurement and testing of all quality systems and processes.
- Responsible for the implementation of quality control systems, including the coordination and completion of internal/external audits
- Work closely with customers, production and process teams to ensure the highest level of quality is achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead role for quality (APQP/Qualification) for new projects.
- APQP function with customer interaction.
- Internal audits for products and processes.
- Assist in achieving compliance to management system requirements.
- Timely customer response to include 8D’s, PPAPs.
- Calibration of equipment.
- SPC, Process Capability Assessment, GR&R.
- Work closely with Process Teams regarding test results and continuous improvements.
- Prepare inspection certificates for customers.
- Interpretation of design print and specifications.
- Root cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Maintain up to date records and knowledge of Quality Systems.
- Provide production team member training for defects.
- Support Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives throughout the facility, ensuring safety, housekeeping and quality standards are maintained.
Qualification & Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is preferred.
- Previous work experience in a similar role, such as quality engineering, quality planning.
- Experience with automotive quality requirements as PPAP, 8D, CSR, FMEA, APQP, Control Plans.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with previous success resolving quality related customer concerns.
